native  language  (Uyghur)  transfer  and  also  get  great  achievements  on  this  aspect.  And there  are  some  researches  about  contrastive  analysis  of  Chinese  and  English,  it  still  lacks  a deep,  thorough  research  between  the  English  and  Chinese  level  of  Uyghur  in  Xinjiang  from the Chinese negative transfer angle in English writing. The  purpose  of  this  study  is  to  analyze  the  wrong  types  in  English  writing  of  Uyghur students in senior high school often making because of the Chinese negative transfer. And as a senior  high  school  English  teacher  in  Xinjiang,  what  should  the  English  teachers  do  to decrease  these  mistakes  after  knowing  these  types?  What  teaching  strategies  should  the English  teachers  use?  Perhaps,  this  study  will give  our  teachers  a  teaching  direction  and  our students a learning compass.

2. Literature Review 

This chapter includes the definition of language transfer and then the negative transfer is introduced  in  detail.  The  author  makes  a  conclusion  about  the  contrastive  analysis  and  the error  analysis  which  includes  the  steps  of  error  analysis  and  the  error  classification  criteria, and  the  related  studies  on  language  transfer  in  China  and  abroad,  so  that  finding  out  the success  and  deficiencies,  as  well  as  the  current  situation  and development  tendency  of  these theories. 

2.1 Language Transfer Theory 
The  word  “transfer”  which  is  what  we  usually  call  in  “language  transfer”  is  not  the proper  noun  of  second  language  acquisition.  Actually,  it  is  an  important  concept  of  learning psychology. H. Ellis (1965) defined transfer as a hypothesis about the learning of task A will influence the learning of task B. And he claimed it as the most important concept of education theory  and  practice.  Then  James  (1980:  11)  put  forward  his  idea  that  we  should  replace  the task A and task B in the definition of H. Ellis with L1 and L2. It is called “language transfer”. Actually, it is a controversial notion. There still exists dispute about the definition of language transfer.
