Introduction

The author selects Costco Company as the research target, and one reason is that Costco Company ranks 24th in 2012 Fortune 500. Costco Company obtained a good market performance in 2012. Its large scale and effective operation system help the continuous success of sales and loyalty of customers. Of course, there are some drawbacks for Costco in aspects of labor, employment and other HR-related issues. So the basic framework of this essay is as follows: firstly, there will be a simple analysis of its history and development, secondly, the author will introduce and analyze the success of Costco as a low-price retailer, especially these HR-related factors, followed by the discussion and recommendations for its sustainable development in the future.笔者选择Costco的公司作为研究对象,其中一个原因是,好市多公司在2012年“财富”500强排名24日。 Costco的公司在2012年取得了良好的市场表现。其规模之大,有效地运作系统帮助销售的持续成功和客户的忠诚度。当然,也有一些缺点Costco的劳动,就业和其他人力资源相关问题等方面。所以这篇文章的基本框架如下:首先,它的历史和发展,会有一个简单的分析,其次,笔者将介绍和分析Costco公司的成功作为一个低价格的零售商,特别是这些人力资源相关的因素,其次是其未来可持续发展的讨论和建议。

The history of Costco

Costco is a wholesale club with membership and committed to provide the possible lowest price to members with merchandise of high-quality brand. It was a combination of two great companies, one was founded in 1976 in San Diego, California (named PRICE CLUB), and the other one was founded in Seattle, Washington (named Costco). After successful operation of more than ten years, these two companies merged in October 1993 named Price Costco, and in July 1998, it changed officially its name to Costco Wholesale Corporation.
