4.1 Present Situations Research of the Microstructure of Confucian Words in Chinese-English Dictionaries for CEL 

As  we  know,  the  treatment  of  the  Confucian  words  in  Chinese-English Dictionaries is not so satisfying for Chinese English Learners when they are trying to translate or write some ancient style prose. This thesis will focus on the shortcomings of  Confucian  words  in  Chinese-English  Dictionaries,  and  in  this  part  the  research details will be explained at length.    The  object  of  this  research  is  the  Confucian  words.  There  are  so  many Confucian works that has come down to us, and it is impossible to observe and study each  of  them.  In  that  case,  sampling  survey  is  feasible  to  solve  this  problem.  After taking  the  samples  of  Confucian  words,  this  thesis  will  screen  them  in  the  Modern Chinese Dictionary, which is the mono-lingual dictionary blueprint as a reference in this research. At the same time, the source language corpus is also a reference in the process  of  checking  Confucian  words.  Then  these  Confucian  words  will  be  further researched  in  three  Chinese-English  Dictionaries  for  CEL  to  check  whether  they have problems and what problems they may have according to the structure listed in Table  3.1.  To  solve  these  problems,  this  thesis  will  follow  the  Four  Principles  to optimize the treatments of Confucian words in C-E Dictionaries for Chinese-English Learners.

Conclusion
