The “Toyota Way” and, therefore, the success of Toyota in the last decades is a clear example of how the culture of a country can positively influence the economics aspects of a company.

The objective of this dissertation was to analyse to what extend does the Japanese culture influence and affect the country’s economy.

Japanese culture permeates all the facets of the society, from the relationships with one another, to the strong sentiment of nationalism that characterizes the mentality of many Japanese firms, to the opportunity for young workers to succeed and achieve a suitable career path, in line with the efforts made to become part of the élite.
