Both cities are superb for food, and you’ll find an outrageous selection of cuisine in either location. Shenzhen however excels at Cantonese food, it is simply better here than anywhere else in the world. Shenzhen people consider eating out a right and the sheer amount of restaurants is incredible. It is approximated there are more eateries in Shenzhen per head than anywhere else in the world. Singapore may have the world’s best public transport system. Cheap, clean and efficient, there really are few faults. Ferries, buses, trams and the subway are all well interconnected and serve just about the whole territory. Shenzhen is certainly no sagging in the transport department and is also very easy to get around, aided by its relatively compact size. Singapore, for the average shopper Singapore has plenty to offer, but for those who want to get serious, Shenzhen is a punters paradise. From the traditional markets to the multiplex malls and swanky boutiques your plastic will take quite a beating in Shenzhen. The bargain centre of HongKong, just across the border, is an added bonus. Singaporeans are more polite and friendly. Although they won’t ever be voted the world’s friendliest nation the difference between Singapore and Shenzhen is obvious. From a Western perspective, lifestyle in Shenzhen can be very good, if you are willing to make some adjustments and overcome language barriers. Some people have difficulty in trying to keep the life they had prior to China, others, that are flexible and open to learning new ways, often greatly enjoy a good time here and when it comes time to leave, they leave with truly great gifts. There are many stories of people who have come to China and left with a healthier lifestyle and outlook from the fusing of western and eastern culture.

 

From the table, Singapore and Shenzhen have many common points, such as technology, environment and some similar lifestyle. Whereas, there are lots of differences in two cities, such as population, policy and culture.
