Conclusion

There is a growing awareness that English is just a tool for internationalcommunication and it is not restricted to a particular nation but as a neutralinformation medium. English globalization speeds up its dissemination anddevelopment in the world, thus leading to its localization in various countries. As aresult, many English varieties are springing up in the world: British English, AmericanEnglish, Canadian English, Australian English, New Zealand English, Indian English,South African English, Singapore English, Malaysian English, Hong Kong English,Malta English, Zambia English, Philippine English, Japanese English, Pakistan English,China English and so on. Whether they are institutionalized varieties or performanceones, these varieties act as a mirror of different cultures, thinking manners and valuesin different countries. Like any other language varieties, English localization in Chinais bound to produce China English — an English variation with Chinese-specificcharacteristics. China English is produced in the soil of Chinese culture, and it is abeneficial complement to and helpful enrichment of English itself. So far, it seems thatChina English has not been accepted or recognized as an English variety unanimously.However, it does exist objectively, which is independent of man’s will and is aninevitable consequence of English localization in China.
