Besides, the translator holds different translation opinions and has  different  social,  historical  and  cultural  backgrounds,  thus  translator's  subjectivity can  be  showed  in  many  aspects.  In  this  chapter,  according  to  the  analysis  of  many examples  extracted  from  To  Live,  an  important  guidance  is  provided  to  the  literary translation from the perspective of translator's subjectivity based on hermeneutics. 

4.1 A Brief Introduction to To Live
As one of Yu Hua’s representative, To Live gives a full expression of the theme of  life  and  death.  The  protagonist  Fugui  used  to  be  a  wealthy  young  master  whose family owns lots of fertile lands. However, he behaved as a jerk until he was caught to join the nationalist troop. When he was young he developed the evil habits of going to the  whorehouse  and  gambling.  Finally,  when  he  lost  all  property  of  his  family,  his father  paid  off  the  debt  by  selling  all  lands  and  house.  Later,  the  death  of  his  father urged Fugui to give up all the evil habits and live a new life. One day, when he went to  the  town  to  buy  some  medicines  for  his  mother,  he  got  conscripted  by  the nationalist  troop.  Two  years  later,  he  survived  all  wars  and  came  back  home  only  to find his mother had been away and his daughter deaf and mute because of a high fever. Though  the  life  was  tough,  Fugui  believed  that  as  long  as  the  family  was  together, they  would  own  a  better  life  one  day.  However,  a  succession  of  disasters  destroyed the uptight family. At first, his wife Jiazhen, who was tender and considerate, caught the incurable “soft bone disease”, making her do anything but lying in bed.

Though  a  long  time  study,  the  paper  is  finished finally.  During  the  process,  a plenty  of  challenges  and  difficulties  block  the  way  to  study.  Lots  of  linguistic materials  need  to  be  collected  and  analyzed  from  the  English  version  and  Chinese version  of  To  Live.  Obviously  it  is  a  tough  task  that  takes  a  large  amount  of  time.
