p;has  discussed  in  the  previous  chapters,  concerning  the  first two phases, this part goes to the third stage of Fairclough’s three-dimensional model —explanation  stage,  “which  is  concerned  with  the  relationship  between  interaction and social context — with the social determination of the processes of production and interpretation,  and  their  social  effects”  (Fairclough,  1996:26).  We  will  put  the interpersonal grammatical metaphors into social and historical context to explore the hidden ideology. What  is  on  earth  the  ideology  hidden  in  interpersonal  grammatical  metaphors? Ideology carries out social functions and is shaped by certain social groups. That is to say, it is closely related to social and historical contexts. Therefore, it is necessary for us to have a better understanding of the social and cultural context of the TV series. According  to  van  Dijk  (2008),  ideology  reflects  the  basic  aim,  interests  and values  of  groups.  In  such  socio-cultural  context,  the  real  aim  of  speakers  lies  in  that they  do  hope  to  set  up  a  responsible  and  credible  image  in  others,  to  strengthen friendship  and  cooperation  between  they  and  others  and  eventually  to  consolidate their  domination  and  to  safeguard  the  interests  of  their  party.  All  these  are  ideology hidden  in  interpersonal  grammatical  metaphors.  By  analyzing  the  functions  of interpersonal grammatical metaphors, we can find that speakers successfully achieve their ideology by means of grammatical metaphors.
