However,people in different cultures may have similarities.As a common language phenomenon, euphemism has long been an interestingtopic, which has attracted both western and Chinese scholars’ attention and concern.Scholars both at home and abroad have conducted a lot of studies regarding theeuphemism. Over the past few years, more and more scholars have been engaged in thestudy of euphemisms from different perspectives, such as, characteristics, formations,evolutions, functions, and they have contributed a great deal to this research area.
