Conclusion

This thesis researches on textbook translation in finance exemplified by ModemFinancial Practices. Through the analysis of translation practice of the textbook in thelight of functionalism, we get some enlightenment in translation
Firstly, we come to a conclusion that textbook translation can be regarded as bothtext-oriented and goal-oriented translation. The actual process in translation consistsof two procedures: textual analysis and functional analysis. Through the application ofthe two procedures in translation practice, the production of high-quality text is mucheasier to be realized. A translated text of high-quality does good to the acquisition ofthe knowledge in financial English and the increase of the pass-rate of FECT.
Secondly，the textbook for FECT is highly professional in finance. Translatortraining has tremendous practical value for textbook translation, for many mistakesroot in the quality of translators, such as the lack of specialty knowledge andtranslation skills. They need the training in translation skills through a supply ofgeneral translation strategies and techniques. They also need to develop a deep insighton textbook compiling, such as the readership and its compiling principles of atextbook.
