　　Teacher's sense of efficacy has opened a new horizon for foreign language teachingresearch. Teacher's sense of efficacy is considered to be a substitution variable for teacher'sability, an important index of teacher's personal characteristics. Based on the comprehensiveanalysis of Chinese culture background and English teaching situation in primary schools，themain purposes of this thesis are to propose a new instrument for measuring English teacher'ssense of efficacy within the context of primary school，to get a general idea about the primaryschool English teacher's sense of efficacy in China and to probe into some factors that mayaffect English teacher's sense of efficacy as well. The new instrument will provide us a newway to assess English teacher's sense of efficacy within the context of primary school.
