There is no doubt that the author’s pre-task preparation helped her interpreting output toa great extent. What should an interpreter do during the pre-task preparation period? When preparingfor an interpretation case, one can first start with the background of the conference materials,focusing on the theme and try to figure out “what is it”; secondly, one can search and readrelevant papers or other materials in both source language and target language, this is anexcellent way to prepare a glossary. In this way, on the one hand, extra-language knowledge isstored more effectively. This part of the knowledge will greatly reduce the interpreter'scomprehension burden and improve the quality of output. Extra-language knowledge, as wellas terminology, can be organized and memorized in a targeted manner before the task. At thesame time, more comprehensive and accumulated reading is inseparable. In addition tolanguage knowledge preparation, interpreters must prepare for a task in a comprehensive way,both physically and psychologically, and adjust themselves to the best state; and never forgetto familiarize themselves with the venue in advance, including the speaker and equipment.
