摘要:随着世界经济全球化的发展,英语在这个过程中也扮演着越来越重要的作用。因此,学习英语的重要性是不言而喻的。经过调查,学习英语语法一直是广大中国英语学习者的弱点。如何教高中英语语法一直是一个争论的话题,研究人员也没有相同的语法。

y. The author summarizes the following three reasons which may lead to this phenomenon. Thefirst is the ignorance of the importance of English grammar by both teachers and students. The lack of aneffective way to teach grammar by teachers may be an important reason. Some teachers even give upteaching grammar because they feel it is a waste of time to teach grammar. Students neglect the importanceof grammar from many reasons. Many are influenced by the teachers’ views. The second reason is theimbalance of different teaching resources in different areas. In the developed areas, students’ abilities arebetter than those in developing areas.According to many people’s misunderstandings of grammar should be weakened or neglected, theauthor hold this study. With the popularity of communicative language teaching approach, teachers payexcessive attention to the implicit learning and neglect the explicit learning. Researchers believe that theexplicit learning is still very important for learners’ domination of foreign language acquisition. The authorintends to find out a way in grammar teaching which can benefit both for teachers and students. As studentsvary from each other in many aspects, such as age, cognition, learning style, accepting speed and etc., theauthor prefers using explicit instruction to teach grammar. In this thesis, the author mainly discusses theexplicit instruction conducts in grammar teaching. The goal of teaching is to help students make themaximum academic gains in a positive, respectful environment that promotes their success and nurturestheir desire to learn.
  


  1.3 Research objectives研究目标
  In this study, the author aims to help teachers improve grammar teaching skills and to help studentsimprove grammar learning abilities. The aim of this thesis is to find out what are the major difficultiesencountered by the teachers during the application of the explicit instruction and the effectiveness of theexplicit instruction after application.
  


  1.4 Significance of the research研究意义
  Grammar is an essential part in language studying. As an important branch of linguistics both inEnglish acquisition and English learning, students can learn English better if they know clearly of howEnglish sentences are formed. Language mistakes could be cut down if students follow language structures.Without grammar, students could not understand how language “works”. Knowing of the grammar rulesprovides a firm and propounding base for students’ mastering the language. Obviously being inapt andunaware of the rules won’t lead to master a language. It should be the first step to learn a language. Theauthor believes that if the students have a good command of English grammar, their reading abilities andwriting abilities can also be improved.There’s always a dispute on whether grammar should be taught and if yes, in which way shouldgrammar be taught. To teachers, grammar teaching is always a tough job. They struggle at how to teachgrammar could students get the maximum score. Without a good way of teaching grammar, the severeconsequences will appear in the long run. In this study, the author conducts the explicit instruction to teachgrammar in EG. The author aims to find out during the application, what are the major difficultiesencountered by the teachers during the application of the explicit instruction and the effectiveness of theexplicit instruction after application.
