A Study on the Impacts of Chinese Pronunciation on English Pronunciation and Solutions
I Introduction
For a long time, students have held the view that listening is very difficult in English learning. Some of them even can not make quick代写英语论文response to the extremely simple words. In fact, it is a problem of pronunciation. The difficulty in listening is mainly caused by incorrect pronunciation. Language is a way for people to communicate thoughts with each other. Therefore, speaking and listening is unified. To a large extent, the ability of listening is just the ability of recognizing the pronunciation, and neither of them can be omitted. The process of delivering a pronunciation made by a person is the process of receiving it by another person. Perfect foundation of pronunciation plays a decisive role in English learning.
Ⅱ. Differences between Chinese and English pronunciation
Chinese is a typical kind of tone language. Besides consonants and vowels, a Chinese character also includes a fixed tone. Chinese tones is a part of syllables, and like consonants and vowels, they also have the function of character meaning. Therefore, the rhyme of Putonghua appears in the form of syllable by syllable. Except the neutral tones in modals, almost every syllable needs the same time, and the barrier between syllables is distinct. In musical terms, the rhythm of Chinese belongs to staccato. There is discontinuity between pronunciations. However, English is a tune language, attaching importance to stress, rhythm and intonation. In English, there are 48 vowels and consonant phonemes. Some are in pairs. Chinese have the advantage of vowels and it takes distinct syllables as its beat. Its languages are rhythmic and its tones are lilting. It also applies alliterative compound, rhyming compound, and so on. As to English, it takes the stress as its beat. Its pronunciations are very clear, strong or weak, light or heavy. Its intonation decreases one by one from high to low. The stress of a sentence is called sentence stress which falls down upon the words that have important meanings. The rising and falling of English intonation can change the original lexical grammar, such as the emotional meaning and the meaning of attitude. For some basic sentences, such as simple question, declarative sentence and exclamatory sentence, we understand what intonation we should use in theory. But in practice, the intonation seems to be unnatural. The standard of Chinese pronunciation is Putonghua, namely, Beijing sound family, including 21 consonants, 39 vowels, 4 tones, tone sandhi, neutral tones, re-ending retroflexion and so on. Putonghua has five tones, namely, yin, yang, shang, qu, and the neutral tone. Different tones have different meanings. However, whether English consonants give a puff or not, can not distinguish meanings, so many native speakers often neglect it,. But in Chinese, most consonants are voiceless sounds that we pay little attention to the differences between voiceless and voiced sounds. (杜灿坤,汉英两个语音系统的主要特点:156,with my translation ) Besides obvious beat, both English and Chinese pay attention to rhythm. The difference lies in that the rhythm of English stresses on the collection between light and heavy sounds while the rhythm of English can be displayed through the alternate appearance of soft sound .(Wu Zheqiong,2002:138) When reading, we str本论文由英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写,英语论文代写,代写论文,代写英语论文,代写留学生论文,代写英文论文,留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
