In ancient Greek, it is a term of physiology.  Physicians  hold  the  idea  that  there  are  four  human  body  fluids:  they  are blood, phlegm, yellow bile or choler, and black bile or melancholy. These four body fluids  determine  the  temperament,  disposition  and  character  of  the  people  according to the proportion of the fluid, so a kind of balance means a person with “good humor” or  “well-humored”.  Otherwise,  it  is  said  that  this  person  would  be  under  the  bad emotions, such as anger, vengeance or jealousy. Throughout centuries until the sixteen century  the  word  came  into  the  daily  expression  referred  to  temperament.  About  the end  of  the  seventeenth  century,  the  modern  meaning  of  humor  what  we  know  as jocular became widely accepted by people in daily life.

2.2   Previous Studies on Humor at Home and Abroad  
In  this  part,  the  author  will  introduce  previous  researches  about  humor  at  home and abroad which are benefit to further study. From  ancient  to  modern  times,  the  study  of  humor  has  continuously  developed, so  there  are  various  attitudes  toward  humor.  Since  the  theories  of  humor  that  put forward  in  the  past  few  centuries  are  various,  many  scholars  that  from  philosophy, sociology,  psychology,  linguistics  and  many  other  fields  have  tried  their  best  to classify  them.  As  early  as  4th  century,  Plato  and  Aristotle  have  already  noticed  the humor  phenomenon.  So  humor  study  has  become  a  research  subject  in multidisciplinary  field.  Raskin  (1987)  claimed  that  humor  could  be  classified according  to  three  bases:  aggression-based,  repression-based  and  incongruity-based. Respectively,  the  classifications  are  superiority  theory,  relief  theory  and  incongruity theory.  And  depending  on  many  factors,  these  three  kinds  of  humor  are  accepted  as traditional theories of humor.
