1.3 Research Motivation and Objectives研究动机和目标
In order to learn the present situation of English lead-in in senior high school classroom teaching andto know about existing problems in senior high school English classroom teaching, the author makes aresearch of the lead-in in Shangshui NO.3 senior high school English class. First, the author observes 20English classes in Shangshui NO.3 senior high school; Followed, the author investigates 6 teachers and 100students with questionnaire to learn about theirs’ standpoints for lead-in; Finally, the author analyzes thedata of collected from the research and puts forward some reasonable advice on how to improve andenhance the effectiveness of lead-in in senior high school English teaching.In order to achieve these objectives, the author focuses on the following questions in this research:(1) What are the main methods of lead-in used in English classroom teaching in senior high school atpresent?(2) What main problems existed of lead-in in English classroom teaching in senior high school atpresent?(3) How to improve and enhance the effectiveness of lead-in in senior high school English classroomteaching?

thesis, they are:Chapter 1: Introduction. It briefly introduces the background of the research, which includes researchobjectives, research significance and an overall structure of the current thesis.Chapter2:
literature review. It gives a brief literature review from the definition, the function, theprinciple, the basic requirement and the method and points out the main theoretical framework of this paper.Chapter3: A study of lead-in in senior high school English classroom teaching. The author presents thedesign including research questions, participants chosen for the study and research methods and procedures.Chapter4: The results of the survey and data analysis. The author makes a research of the lead-in inShangshui NO.3 senior high school English classroom teaching and analyzes these data according toclassroom observation and questionnaire survey.Chapter5: The conclusion of the study. The author sums up the problem in lead-in and puts forwardsome reasonable advice on how to improve and enhance the effectiveness of lead-in in senior high schoolEnglish teaching.
