摘要:本文是一篇高中英语教学论文,本研究以可理解性输入假说、输出假说、以及交互假说为理论基础,选取成都市龙泉中学校的四位高中英语教师以及她们所任教的4个班的143名学生为个案研究对象。

本文是一篇高中英语教学论文,基于研究分析和理论基础,笔者为优化高中英语教师提问策略提供以下实践性建议:首先,教师应避免使用单一提问方式,鼓励学生主动参与课堂,实现教师提问的有效性。

Chapter OneIntroduction

1.1 Background of the Research

Since National English Curriculum Standards of Senior High School(NECS)reform started,“student-centeredness”and“teacher-led learning”have been 2 themes ofteaching research.Student-centeredness is manifested in the subjectivity of students inthe learning process and their participation in learning activities,which is closely relatedto teachers’teaching achievements and students’learning achievements.One of theimportant means of“teacher-led learning”is teacher questioning.Therefore,teacherquestioning is closely relevant to students’classroom participation.

In the field of foreign language teaching research,some researchers have studiedthe relationship between teachers’questioning and students’participation in college,forexample,Kong and Li(2007)research the effects of teachers’different questioningmodes on students’language output in college English class.From the perspective ofcomparative study,Zhang(2011)conducts a study on the effects of questioningstrategies on English teaching efficiency between normal class and ethnic minority class.Furthermore,studies on the correlation between teacher questioning and students’participation in junior middle school have also been involved,the effect of effectivenessof teachers’questioning on students’classroom enthusiasm in junior middle school isstudied(Yi&Liu,2019).From the perspective of teacher behavior,Xue,Yu,and Yin(2017)study the effect of teacher’s questions on the enthusiasm of students to participate in the classroom in junior high school English classroom.However,theresearches addressed to senior high students are not as many as those to college studentsand junior high students.

1.2 Purpose and Significance of the Research

This research aims to explore the status quo of teachers’questioning and students’classroom participation based on the actual teaching of senior high school Englishclassroom,so as to help English teachers better understand the effects of teacherquestioning on students’classroom participation.Then,in view of the current situation,the specific optimization ways to promote the active participation of students from theperspective of teachers’questioning will be proposed.

The ultimate purpose of this research is to increase students’learning participationby using effective questioning.It can be transformed into 2 research questions asfollows:

(1)What is the status quo of the English teachers’questioning in terms of ways,types and modification strategies in senior high school English class?

(2)How do the high school English teachers’questioning ways,types,andmodification strategies affect students’classroom participation?

Chapter TwoLiterature Review

2.1 Key Concepts of the Research

There are two integral factors in English classroom interaction including teacherquestioning and students’classroom participation.Therefore,it is vital to explain theirdefinitions.

2.1.1 Teacher Questioning
