5.1 Major Tenses in Main Clause 
According to our annotation, judgment and summary about the corpus, we have selected 3,262 hits of object clauses among the five sub-corpora. There are 2145 hits under the condition of the tenses are the simple present tense (T1) in main clause and they are right. There are 744 hits under the condition of the tenses are the simple past tense (T5) in main clause and they are right. In all, they take up 88.6%, which can be seen in table 5.1. Most of  the compositions are from  the  given--topic  writings by  students, such as “A healthy diet, my education, Global shortage of fresh water, Practice makes perfect, my view on job-hopping “and some are letters and diaries. In terms of human beings’ cognitive mechanism and experiential viewpoint, we usually talk about the present and recall our past. Present is the nearest future and also the latest development of past, which is the result of human beings’ emphasis on reality instead of imagination. In the following, we will mainly talk about TSOT in sub-clause on condition that main clause is T1 and T5.

Conclusion

This chapter aims to provide a conclusion for this study, including three parts: the main findings  of  this  study,  pedagogical  implications  and  limitations  of  this  study  as  well  as suggestions for English teaching in the future. The present study investigates the characteristics and analyzes TSOT between main clause and sub-clause in object clause. The major conclusions are as following: (1)  The tense in main clause is dominated by the simple present tense and the simple past tense, which takes up 88.6% .Other tenses frequency, is so low that we failed to reach a valid result. (2)  From a longitudinal view, when the tense in main clause is the simple present tense and it is right, the proper usage made by ST3, ST4, ST5 and ST6 are all better than ST2; when the tense in main clause is the simple past tense and it is right, the changes in the magnitude of misuse and proper usage which were made by five groups almost the same. Among it, the ST2 group has the best master of it, but also the highest error rate group.
