Introduction

Set up in 1865 and headquartered in Espoo,Nokia Corporation is mainly “occupied in the manufacturing of mobile devices and in converging Internet and communications industries" (Nokia, 2010). It came to be the largest manufacturer in the world without doubt because its global market share has hit a high percent of 23% in the second quarter 2011. Certainly, the success https://www.51lunwen.org/strategy/ of its dominated position which has been kept for a long term of 15 years since 1996 is not accidental for its well-prepared strategic planning. However, forecast- planning or budget-oriented planning methods is apparently insufficient for a large-scaled company to survive, develop and prosper in such a competitive business environment. This essay will firstly set forth the purpose of the strategic plan which will be discussed from three aspects to introduce the strategy: Identify the organizational strategic aims and objectives, determine the alternative strategic options available and assess the impact of stakeholder expectations on a strategic plan. Following this, it will look at how to  a strategic direction from analysis of alternative strategic option that will illustrate from five sides: Determine the alternative strategic option available, assess priorities and the feasibility of alternative options, carry out a risk assessment of preferred alternatives, identify and justify the  strategic directions and produce a strategic plan to achieve the  strategic direction. Finally, it will explain what should be known to implement, , monitor and review the strategic plan which will also show from three aspects: Assess the factors to be considered in the implementation of the strategic plan, determine the processes required to monitor and review the strategic plan and determine the impact of the strategic plan.

Conclusion

To sum up, the strategic planning maybe a best choice for a firm because of its clearly-defined objectives and analyses on both the external and internal situation to develop strategies, to carry out the strategy and to , monitor and review the process of implementation to make adjustments as to stay on track. It's reasonable to believe that NOKIA will be more powerful and prosperous if make proper and timely strategic planning in the near future.
