For non Scottish students:

代写英国论文In your groups, prepare a short piece (500 words) about what aspects of culture you found different in Scotland and how you have coped with these differences.

What parts of your own culture do you think foreigners might find different and what things would you tell them about if they were going to do business in your country. Think about things such as dress, customs, manners, language, businesses times and conventions, eating times and the etiquette of meetings such as time keeping, what should be discussed, how dissent is registered, whether it is appropriate to defer to older or more experienced people round the table. These are just examples and if you can think of any other issues then you should discuss these.

The work should be written as a manual for foreign businessmen/women doing business in your country.

For Scottish students:

Prepare a short piece (500 words) about Scots business culture and what elements of it foreign businessmen/women should be aware of. Again think about things such as dress, customs, manners, language, businesses times and conventions, eating times and the etiquette of meetings such as time keeping, what should be discussed, how dissent is registered, whether it is appropriate to defer to older or more experienced people round the table.

Also consider which elements of Scots business culture might be problematic for Scots businesspeople going overseas. If you have knowledge of a particular culture then prepare a note about that.

Class Problem – All Students

You are flying over to Indonesia for a series of business meetings. When you arrive there it will be Ramadan. The people you will be meeting are Indonesian Muslims and are a family firm. The firm is run by two sons and their mother who is still very much in control and who will chair the meeting.

Explain some of the areas of sensitivity you will have to be aware of if you are to make a good impression and how you would deal with these. You should also explain the methods you have used to find out what the issues are that you will have to address.
