4.1 Analysis of the Current Situation of High School Students’Vocabulary Learning and Discussion

What is the current situation of senior high school students’ English vocabularylearning? The questionnaire is analyzed by the Statistical Package for Social Science(SPSS 25.0) to answer this question.

Questions 1-5 are to find out the current situation of senior high school students’vocabulary learning.

According to the statistics in Table 2, the result of question shows that nearly 63%respondents attach importance to vocabulary while only 14% respondents think thatvocabulary is not important. Although more than half of the students have realized theimportant role of vocabulary learning in English learning, it is still necessary for the authorto raise the awareness of students’ learning vocabulary.

5.1 Major findings

Based on the results and discussions, there are three major findings presented in thischapter to answer the research questions.

In the first place, more than half of the students in the research have realized thatvocabulary plays a very significant role in English learning but many of them havedifficulty in vocabulary learning. Most of them possess smart phones and have tried to usevarious vocabulary apps to learn vocabulary, among whom some students think vocabularyapp is helpful to their vocabulary learning while others hold the opposite view. Hopefully,most students express their desire to participate in the experiment.
