摘要:With the further development and reformation of junior high school English education,there is an increasing call to give the teachers and students more humanistic concern duringthe process of teaching.

and comprehensive expression of Basic English Education in China. Englishcurriculum standard learns from the advanced theory, experiences from abroad, it advocatesstudents’ main role and individual differences, and thinks highly of task-based learning modeland process evaluation. English curriculum standard also focus on the communication and thereal life, the contents are also creative which will have a great impact on the middle schoolEnglish teaching. We can easily find that only the relaxed, democratic and harmoniousrelationship between teacher and students can create a good atmosphere for the realization ofthe goals and the humanistic teaching which new English curriculum advocates.

2 Literature Review


2.1 Research Achievements of Abroad and at Home
In 1950s, modern “conflict theory” first appeared in western sociology field. In 1960s, ithad become the most significant stream in western sociology field. As the research of conflictproblem became deeper, people extended the conflict theory from sociology field tohumanities and social sciences field. It impacted a lot to management and education, so itbecame a cross subject which many subjects study on. From modern pedagogy point ofview, the international academe had done the following researches on conflict problems untilnow.First, some educational sociologists who held conflict view studied on the relationshipbetween school and social conflict. The representatives are R. Collins, Samuel Bowles ofAmerica and schools of “modern sociology of Neo-Marxism”. They held that the mainfunction of school is to impart the identity culture of “society controls community”. School isa weapon of class dominion, the conflict of different communities is the impetus of schooldevelopment. (马健生,2007)As the research of school conflict became more and more detailed, some researchersbegan to analysis the conflict relationship existed in schools, especially teacher-studentrelationship. American sociologist Willard Walter Waller was the first person to study onteacher- student conflict from microcosmic aspect. He thought that teacher represented theadult society, which opposite to the children’s desire, so the conflict existed between teacherand students is an inevitable phenomenon. The teacher-student relationship should be aninstitutionalized dominant-subordinate relationship; teacher’s authority should over all thestudents to ensure the school teaching activity. (Waller W. 1932, p.458)

2.2 The Theories of Teacher-student Conflicts
The concept of “conflict” is the origin and basis in defining “teacher-student conflict”.“Conflict” has three meanings in the authorized dictionary: “1. a situation in which people,group or countries are involved in a serious disagreement or argument 2. a violent situation orperiod of fighting between two countries 3. a situation in which there are opposing ideas,opinions, feelings, or wishes; a situation it is difficult to choose”(A S Hornby, 2004, p.348)In sociology research, “conflict” is an important item, the representative of socialconflict theory, Lewis A.
