摘要:English teaching in middle school has increasingly focused on the students’ ability to understand, aiming at learning effectively. How to train students’ reading ability, how toimprove students’ ability of analysis and ability to solve the problems are continually thetopic that middle school English teachers have explored.
Chapter Two Literature Review
2.1 Relevant concepts of reading
Goodman believed that reading was a process of psychological language activities ofthe readers. He pointed out that reading was a crossword game of psycholinguistics, whichcontained the following aspects: First, reading was a language process. Second, readingwas a mental process. Readers felt stimulation of language in the process of reading byusing knowledge structures and skills so as to capture meaningful language symbols,which can lead to a series of experiences, forecasts, verification and final judgmentthinking activities. Third, the main body of the reading was people. In the psychologicalprocess of reading, the reader itself played a decisive role. The reader need mobilize allthinking, knowledge and skills, which were direct linked their own knowledge to thecontent of the article, which decoded the information of the text.Hua Huifang (2001) believed that reading was a complex psychological process,which was the interaction between the reader and the words of the text. Reading was also aprocess of restoring the creation through readers’ understanding of the article; a process ofinteraction and resonance between author and readers through language carrier; a processof readers’ explaining the purposes of the author critically by developing imagination andcreation and using required information, knowledge, and judgment; a process of dealingwith advanced, complicated, instant information; a process of readers’ informationhandling like guessing games; a complex behavior process of readers’ brain andunderstanding, thinking and psychological which link the reader, the article and the author,a special process of intercultural communication in which the author conquered thedifficulties on the “surface cultural migration” and “deep cultural migration ".

2.2 Theoretical basis of reading teaching
What is a schema? A schema refers to units in the brain which stores a variety ofknowledge. A summary of schema include a person’s all knowledge. The term was firstfound in the writings of the philosopher Immanuel Kant (Kant 1871). British psychologistF Bartlett (1932) believed that Schema was a positive organization of previous reaction orexperience, which consists of past experience. In the 1970s, artificial intelligence expert ofthe United States, D.E Rumelhart developed schema concept into schema theory.( PatriciaL. Carrell &Joan C.Eisterhold , 1988).
