different verbs alternatively. That is to say it depends on whether their applications with different types of verbs are suitable or not. But when it refers to the sphere of proper applications, they are universal, or there would be no law in Chinese.
3.3 It is a sufficient condition in Chinese when word-formation expresses in a category.
It is not compulsive to use a word-formation in Chinese; for example, ‘们’can be used freely.‘女士们都来了’is the same as‘女士来了’. Affix‘了,着’is the same;‘他今天买回来了一台冰箱’is the same as‘他今天买回来一台冰箱’.Then someone would say the use of Chinese word-formation is arbitrary. It is not exactly, actually. It would be explained as for a certain grammatical meaning or a grammatical category.
Chinese word-formation is a sufficient condition rather than necessary. European morphology is a necessary condition, or a necessary and sufficient condition, while Chinese morphology is just a sufficient condition, for example, ‘Ladies are all coming’ is quite different from ‘Lady is coming’.
3.4 Isolation of Chinese affix
Affix in Chinese is isolation. 1) Suffix ‘们’ and ‘了’ are not only attached to words, but also phrases, for instance,‘这所学校的老师和同学们积极性很高’‘我们看到并学到了许多好东西’.This may be seen as an ellipsis of some affixes; 2)Affix sometimes could be isolated from the component it has to be attached to in position. For example ‘看’ which means attempt.(想想看,吃吃看), could also be located far from the verb like ‘你做做这道题看’ ‘问他们一下看’ , so, many people treat ‘看’as an auxiliary word. In fact, no matter where ‘看’ would be located, it always belongs to a verb and is always used as its own meaning (attempt) for the action the verb applies. That is to say its grammatical meaning and function is related and belongs to the verb, rather than to the relations between words and sentences.
Conclusion.
The theory of sinigram plays an important role in linguistics. It is based on the traditional linguistic study---character, and, according to the international academic rules, establishes a new Chinese grammatical analysis. It not only breaks through the framework of western linguistic study, and establishes a linguistic theory system with Chinese characteristics, but also establishes a new basement for the English-Chinese contrastive studies, and furthers its development. Even though this theory is not essential, its influences in Chinese study and English-Chinese contrastive study are important. We believe in the near future, under the influence of this theory, the study of Chinese morphological changes will have a rapid development.
