Likewise, it has exerted unprecedented impact onhigher education as well as university teachers’ professional development. Web 2.0 takesthe network as a platform for information sharing, interoperability, user-centered designand collaboration on the World Wide Web. Examples of Web 2.0, including social networking sites, blogs, wikis, video sharing sites, hosted services and folksonomies, allowusers to interact and collaborate with each other in a social media dialogue as creators ofuser-generated content in a virtual community, in contrast to websites where users arelimited to the passive viewing of content that was created for them.
