摘要:本文是大学英语论文,目的是提高学生听力综合能力。On the other hand, this study can explore the students’ web-based autonomous learning ability oflistening learning.
Chapter Four Data Collection and Analysis
4.1 Data Collection and Analysis of Pre-test
Before the research begins, the pre-test is held in both the experimental class and thecontrol class to test their listening proficiency, the result of which is analyzed by PairedSamples T-test of the software SPSS 17.0. (Table-1 and Table-2)Table-1 shows the results of the listening comprehension pre-test at the beginning of theexperiment. The full marks of the test are 20. The average score of the experimental class is11.85 marks and the average score of the control class is 11.93 marks. Through the T test, theauthor founds that there is no significant difference in the initial English proficiency betweenthe two groups of subjects in listening comprehension ability (P = 0.906 > 0.05). The results ofpre-tests were the evidence for the premise of the experiment that the experimental class andthe control class are parallel in terms of listening competence. The above table also indicatesthat these two natural classes has the vary beginning-point. In the following one term they weretaught by the same teacher and were taught the same content of lessons to ensure the scientificresults.

Conclusion
By analyzing the data collected from the experiment, we can obtain the conclusion that the new mode of English listening is more effective than the conventional listening in improving the students’ listening proficiency. The listening comprehension test of pre-experiment indicatesthe experimental group and the control group are parallel in listening comprehensionproficiency, as is shown from Table-1 and Table-2. Compared with the control class, theexperimental class is superior to the former in listening test results after one-term experiment,which can be seen from Table-3 and Table-4. Therefore, the results of the study suggest that thenew mode can be an effective way to improve students’ listening competence, and theexperiment on Vocational English listening reform has proved to be successful.Data from the questionnaires and interviews provide with indication that students takepositive attitudes towards the web-based autonomous listening learning mode. The dataanalyses of students prove that web-based listening learning can improve students’ listeningproficiency. From the questionnaire, the conclusion can be made that 73 percent of the studentsbelieve that the new learning mode of listening has positive effect on foreign language learningand 83 percent think that the new learning mode can improve their confidence about Englishlistening learning.
