　For the same events, different Medias present different pictures. Someone concludes, "Need you know, and I will tell you" and "you need to know, I will tell you" is the obvious difference on the news reports between China and western countries. The former tends to positive report, while the latter tends to negative report; positive and negative news reports also became an important part of the comparison between Chinese and western news coverage.

　　　The concept of "Positive report" and "negative report" comes from western journalism theory; the formation of the concept is in part subjective. Here are the two concepts.
　　　Firstly, news event is “the most recent fact”, its presence can not move with the person's volition, but the way of report can decide the nature of it. As for the same disaster events, if report emphasis is placed on heroism of civilian and military fighting risk and disaster relief, this disaster events is a positive report; while if the cause of the disaster takes up much space, this report is a negative report.
　　　Secondly，the main report contents of a media can be approximately divided into two types which are subjectivity report and directivity report. The former is indifferent to event stand or fall. The latter tends to “dress” the evens and is also the main basis to judge a media report whether it is qualitatively positive report or negative report.
