摘要:At present, the college English education in our country, especially the English readingcomprehension education, is still the traditional education model that mainly based on the memory ofthe English words and the application of the English grammar. It can not deny that the traditionaleducation model has its own rationality. And under this kind of education model, there are greatnumber of English talents were cultivated to the society. However, with the rapid economicdevelopment, society’s requirements for the English reading ability have been gradually improved.The traditional English education model is limited by its own limitations, which can not meet therequirements. So how to further improve college students’ English reading ability, which requires abreakthrough and innovation in the traditional English education.

mprehensive overview of the relevance theory and I also haveexplained that how to applying of the relevance theory to the English reading comprehension.Moreover, we also need to consider that the actual situation and combine the relevance theoryapplication to the English reading comprehension with the current situation of college Englisheducation at the present stage. Furthermore, the study on the English requirements of the jobitself, which required for candidates provided by the enterprise have been done with the purposeto narrow the gap between the students’ actual ability of applying English and the requirementsfor English proficiency that the enterprises required. However, there are also some deficiencies ofthe relevance theory in the applying of the reading comprehension to improve the college EnglishEducation, which need to do some further studies to make up for the deficiencies. We shouldhave confidence in the improvement of the future level of the English education in college. Theprospects of the English education in college, which will gradually integrate with the social needs,especially the English requirements that the job itself required, are very good. Through theanalysis of the feasibilities of the relevance application to the English reading comprehension, wecan get some conclusions, which are showed as follows.


  
6.1 Conclusions achieved in the dissertation
From the descriptions of the above chapters, the author has analyzed the problems that thecollege students confronted in the learning of the college English reading comprehension andsome solutions for the problems. Then it is about the problem that the college students how to usethese solutions practically to their own learning of the English reading comprehension tofundamentally improve their reading ability, which requires us firstly proficiency in the nature ofthe relevance theory and then applying of the relevance theory to improve college students’ ownability of English reading comprehension, especially college students’ English reading ability.College students’ cognition only on the basis of the knowledge on the relevance theory isnot enough. Because only know the conception of the relevance theory equivalent to they stillhave no idea to use the relevance theory to improve their own ability of English readingcomprehension. Only the conception of the relevance theory usually has no substantial help forstudents to really improve their own ability of English reading comprehension. College studentsneed to not only know the relevance theory, but also they should understanding how to use therelevance theory to improve their own ability of English reading comprehension, which requiredthat some guidance for them to better use the relevance theory to improve their own ability ofEnglish reading comprehension.Throughout the development of the college English education mode, it is always taking theimprovement of students’ English ability as the core of the English education. And around thecore, although the college English education mode has been in continuous development, it hasnot breakthrough the shackle, which is aimed to improve students’ ability for the passing of theexaminations.
