摘要:At present, the college English education in our country, especially the English readingcomprehension education, is still the traditional education model that mainly based on the memory ofthe English words and the application of the English grammar. It can not deny that the traditionaleducation model has its own rationality. And under this kind of education model, there are greatnumber of English talents were cultivated to the society. However, with the rapid economicdevelopment, society’s requirements for the English reading ability have been gradually improved.The traditional English education model is limited by its own limitations, which can not meet therequirements. So how to further improve college students’ English reading ability, which requires abreakthrough and innovation in the traditional English education.

solve all problemsexisted in the process of reading. And it also not means that the applying of relevance theory tothe English reading comprehension for each aspect of the reading articles has improvementmeasures to the improvement of the college English education. The improvement on the collegeEnglish education mode can not covers everything superficially but deal with nothing in depth.Therefore, for the future improvement on the college English education, we should try as muchas possible to introduce the advanced pragmatic theory from the foreign countries, which shouldbe appropriated to the present college English education at this stage. For the imperfect situationon the college English education in college at the current stage, we can also try to find abreakthrough from the present college English education in our country, which can promotes thecollege English education mode for self- improvement. Therefore, the limitations of the relevancetheory itself will lead to the relevance theory in the applying of the reading comprehension toimprove the college English education existed some deficiencies to some extent. And it is alsolimited by the English environment in our country. Students can not fully develop their Englishreading ability in this condition. Teachers should try to create the English environment forstudents that they will have a true language environment.
