It is plain that cultural filtering is widely adopted in the translation of Fusang,but how does cultural filtering affect its reception in the American reading public andwhat reflection can we draw from the translation of Fusang? The thesis will then setout to examine the reception of The Lost Daughter of Happiness, namely the Englishversion of Fusang from the perspective of cultural filtering.
