In 1986, China Federation of Literary and Art Circles Publishing Corporation publishedthe first volume of The Ordinary World, followed by the second and third volumes in 1988and 1989. For more than 30 years, copies of The Ordinary World have been sold 17 million.In 1991, The Ordinary World won the third Mao Dun literature prize.

In 2019, the novelwas included in the collection of 70 novels of new China in the past 70 years, and its authorLu Yao was also named the most beautiful striver.

The Ordinary World is a literary work.
