Companies .Have operated in major international financial centres. Since retirement by
choice, had been Research Fellow in Monash University, Malaysia and part-time
Lecturer in UTAR. Have conducted under-graduate and post-graduate courses in
Corporate Finance , Banking and Treasury Functions, Financial Management and
Mergers and Acquisitions.
OBJECTIVES
This subject provides a clear understanding of the underlying structure, interactions, workings and pricing
mechanisms of the financial system.
After studying this subject, the student should be able to do the following:
A good understanding of the organisation and structure of the financial system;
A good knowledge about the determinants of interest rates theories in money markets and capital markets
and factors determining the foreign exchange rates;
An understanding of the role and impact of government policy on the flow of funds in the financial
system.
A basic understanding of the current financial crisis.
