Monopolistic Competition is a market structure close to perfect competition market, boasting the some feature of both perfect competition and monopoly, with some monopolistic factors and more competitive factors. Producers mainly specialize in groceries, foods, retail, handcrafts and so on. This essay analyzes the equilibrium of monopolistically competitive market and the link of it between normal profits.

By means of diagrams explaining, I draw the link between profits and this type of market structure.
Because of the monopolistic factors, producers in the monopolistically competitive market may control the price to some extent, thus realizing excess profits in the short term. However, with production factors adjusting in the long term, producers in this type of market are not capable to take excess profits, due to the exit and enter of other producers. Thus, monopolistic competition market structure can only realize the normal profits in a long term.
