摘要:转移是一个长期心理学的教学,它是指以往的研究,其中有一个对未来的学习效果。语言迁移的概念被改编从心理过程被称为转移培训学习或转让(Selinker,1969)。

Foreign language teaching should be shifted to foreign languageeducation; teachers should encourage students to have an awareness of the cultural differencesand the diverse use of target language.


1.2 Purpose of the study
Transfer is a term on the teaching of psychology, which refers to the previous study whichhas an effect on future learning. The concept of language transfer was adapted from thepsychological process known as transfer of learning or transfer of training (Selinker, 1969).The research on transfer in the field of second language acquisition began in the 1950s.When second language learners in learning a foreign language, the rules and habits of expressionof native language which are used in second language learning that has been referred to aslanguage transfer.


1.3 Significance of the study
Firstly, the research on pragmatic transfer has reached its climax abroad in the 1980s, but inlate 1990s the scholars in China gradually began to take notice on pragmatic transfer. In recentdecades, researchers have made a lot of research on pragmatic research in the field of secondlanguage acquisition, but this kind of research mainly focused on language itself, vocabulary andsyntax. However, the Empirical Study of Refusal Speech Act is rare in the process of secondlanguage acquisition when foreign language learners want to reject others.
Secondly, the phenomenon of pragmatic transfer in cross cultural communication is amulti-subject topic. It involves pragmatic, cross cultural communication, second languageacquisition theories. The relative researches will inevitably meet some complicated questions.And in the aspect of theory's future expansion, especially the research in combination of foreignlanguage education, this research may not only be helpful in the improvement of theeffectiveness and efficiency of foreign language learning, but also has some benefits in theenhancement of the awareness in cross cultural communication, which can increase the ability ofcross cultural communication and decrease the possibility of pragmatic failures. In case of theinsufficient research in the factor of theoretical knowledge application in reality, it is obviousthat a deeper research that involving the application of teaching method under the theories ofcross cultural education.

 

Chapter 2 Literature review


2.1 Pragmatic transfer
Kasper deemed that the influence exerted by learners' pragmatic knowledge of languagesand cultures other than L2 on their comprehension, production and learning of L2 pragmaticinformation (Kasper 1992: 207). The core of his definition is the previous pragmatic knowledgeof language influence the use and acquisition of second language learning, which emphasizes thetheory of pragmatic transfer.Pragmatic transfer has been defined by Wolfson(1989) as the transfer of the rules ofspeaking or the conventions of language behavior.Pragmatic knowledge can be seemed as a particular part of language learner'scommunicative knowledge. That is to say, how to understand the verbal information and thespeaker's intention under the control of discourse and context.
