In China,the term "Chinese culture aphasia" was borrowed by Professor Cong Cong (2000). It refers tothe phenomenon of students' incompetence of expressing Chinese culture in English inintercultural communication, which often causes communication barriers or communicationfailure. The Chinese culture aphasia in intercultural communication has caused concerns andworries in the field of foreign language teaching. In 1996, Cao Shunqing (1996) pointed out that Chinese literature suffered from theserious problem of "aphasia". But the term “Chinese culture aphasia" was first used byProfessor Cong Cong (2000) in Chinese Culture Aphasia published in Guangming Daily onOctober 19，2000. He pointed out that "Chinese culture aphasia" existed in English educationin China. From then on，other scholars such as Shi Guoqiang (2001), Zhang Weimin and ZhuHongmei (2002)，Liu Shiwen (2002，2005)，Liu Changjiang (2003)，Ren Hai Tang (2003)，Zhou Xiaoling (2009)，Zhang Wei (2009) and Xiao Longfu(2010) and so on also discussedthe phenomenon of "Chinese cultural aphasia". The author used "Chinese culture aphasia" astitle and keyword to retrieve all the articles in CNKI Database and got the results shown inTable 2.1. We can see that from 2002 to 2013，more and more articles although not manyabout "Chinese culture aphasia" appeared, the total number of articles is 40.

2.2 Language and Culture

2.2.1The Definition of Language
First，language is systematic means that each language contains twosystems，namely a system of sounds and a system of meaning. Second，language is arbitrary,which means that there is no particular relationship between form and content. Third，sincethe primary medium of language is sound，so language is vocal; written forms came muchlater than the spoken forms. Fourth，language is symbolic means that people's idea, concept，value，etc are bound up by convention. Fifth, language is possessed only by human beings，other communication systems of animals or many other life forms are not language. At last，the main and primary fimction of language is communication. People use language tocommunicate with each other to satisfy their need. Culture is a highly complex phenomenon (Kramsch 1998:10). Since the 19也 century, amass of philosophers, sociologists，anthropologists, historians and linguists have been tryingto define the concept of culture. In Primitive Culture (1871), British famous anthropologistEdward B. Taylor first provided a definition of culture, “Culture，or civilization, taken fn itsbroad, ethnographic sense, is that complex whole which includes knowledge, belief，art,morals，law, custom，and any other capabilities and habits acquired by man as a member ofsociety，，. The definition view paved the way for the modem understanding of culture. Simplyspeaking, culture, includes material culture and spiritual culture, is a community's way ofsharing thoughts，beliefs，emotions and behaviors and so on.
