Conclusion


There is lots of negative transfer problems resulted from the Chinese language.With the purpose of making a further analysis of the function of transfer by ChinesePinyin on English pronunciation and finding the difficulties in the students ‘ learning ofEnglish phonetics, the author starts with the comparison of the Chinese and Englishphonological systems, classifies and analyzes the negative transfer of Chinese fromsegmental phonemes and suprasegmental phonemes.
The factors influencing the learning of pronunciation are complex and diverse, sothe result of this teaching experiment might be affected by other factors as well. Takingthe strategy of beat teaching which has led to the best teaching effect for an example,the result might be influenced by its vivid and active form which has aroused theparticipants' learning interest and inner motivation. There are also some teachingstrategies which need adjusting.The research sample in this paper comes from a high vocational and technicalcollege, the students' quality in which is not as good as that of a comprehensiveuniversity. The author thinks that the negative transfer problems of mother tonguewould be less severe for students in those comprehensive colleges and the time durationfor the teaching experiment would also be much shorter.
