摘要:海外英语词汇教学研究涵盖了广泛的观点,并为中国的教师在词汇教学中隐含着一定的指导意义。英语作为第二语言都有自己的特长,尤其是在中国英语学习者的词汇教学问题,但是,它仍然是一个必须要利用国外学者的成果仅供参考,做进一步的研究,中国的语言背景的基础上不管它是词汇还是没有问题的。

> Chapter Two: Research Methodology


In the first chapter, research history of vocabulary at home and abroad, itsrecent teaching status and current situation of Chinese college vocabulary teaching,conceptual metaphor theory have been elaborated. At the same time, related conceptslike image schema theory and prototype theory in cognitive linguistics have also beengiven a detailed discussion for an effective vocabulary memorizing and teachingmethod. In this chapter, main research methodology for the application of conceptualmetaphor and further experiment arrangement and its analysis is expounded, whichincludes research questions and hypotheses, participants, questionnaires and pre-testand post-test equipments of vocabulary samples, and experimental procedures.


2.1 Research Questions and Hypothesis
The main purpose of this essay is to explore whether conceptual metaphortheory is workable in vocabulary teaching and learning of the non-English majorstudents of vocational college.

1. What kinds of method have non-English major Chinese college students usedin English vocabulary learning?
2. What are the approximate factors that may make that students not recitevocabulary well and understand them correctly?
3. What is the relationship between learning and cognitive training of conceptualmetaphor theory and improvement of vocabulary memory capabilities forChinese college English students?
4. What are good ways to teach and train conceptual metaphor theory and relatedconcepts to college English learners?
