Conclusion


Certainly, much work is left to do due to the limitation of the author's ability andcertain practical difficulties. Further study is needed without any question. For example,other verbs' grammatical differences between BrE and AmE can be found in the corpus.Therefore, more findings can be made in the future. What's more, the language is notstatic. English varieties will develop more differently from each other. The dictionarymaking should follow the fast step of language development. This thesis has putforward to many ways of manifesting the grammatical differences between varieties. Itis still a question that if these methods are user-friendly. Further research on thesemethods in terms of its effectiveness can be done in the future.
In the language teaching circle, especially the English teaching in China, whichvariety should be the focus is still unsure. How can the leanerdictionary serve for thechoice of varieties in the teaching effectively is an uncertain issue demanding moreattention from both of the language teaching field and lexicography field. The limitedspace of the dictionary is a disadvantage for detailed introduction to the grammaticaldifference between varieties.
