摘要:本文是一篇研究英语语法论文,本文通过应用三维语法理论,我们可以发现教学方法和教学风格在中学英语时态教学中发挥着重要作用。有效的教学方法可以帮助学生培养学习时态的热情,并教育他们如何在现实世界中应用所获得的技能,学生可以理解学习时态是系统的、有原则的。

ared the view that tense conveyed time.Eckersley(1960)believed that tense referred to the verb form or forms that wereutilized to describe particular time relations.Using tense,according to Leech(1971),indicates that the audience is conscious of the connection between the verb’s form andtheir concept of time.To put it another way,tense and time go hand in hand.According to this theory,the present tense expresses the present,the past tense and thefuture tense express the past and the future.

Some scholars gave their definitions at home.According to Yi(1999),it isreasonable to explain the basic aspects of each tense when defining the various waysin which tenses can be used.Time is not the only factor to take into account.Thetense of a verb is a grammatical category,claimed Zhang(2003).The verb form isused to express time distinctions.The two tenses connected to the English verb are thepresent tense and the past tense.The present tense therefore indicates the relationshipor connection with the present,whereas the past tense indicates the separation fromthe speaking period in the past.English tense has been researched from a cognitiveperspective with the development of cognitive linguistics.

2.2 Three-dimensional Grammar Theory

2.2.1 Definition of Three-dimensional Grammar Theory

Scholars have different opinions about the definition of grammar.According toUr(1996),grammar is a set of rules that specify how words(or parts of words)can beused in conjunction or altered to generate appropriate meaning units in a language.According to Hu(2001),understanding grammar as a dynamic system as opposed to astatic one is a skill that students must possess in order to employ grammaticalstructures correctly and effectively.Chomsky’s(1965)definition of grammar is that grammar is a system of rules which mainly regulates the formation,use,andunderstanding of sentences.In traditional western linguistics,morphology and syntaxare two important parts of the grammar system.Different definitions of grammar bylinguists reflect the views of different ages.The definition of grammar in theacademic circle is gradually in-depth and comprehensive,and it is distinguished froma variety of perspectives.

Grammar teaching has been the focus of foreign language teaching research athome and abroad.From the earliest grammar-translation method to the task-basedapproach advocated today,grammar teaching has experienced different stages ofdevelopment in different periods.Krashen(1981)argued that the best way to learn alanguage is in a natural,realistic environment and that it is necessary to learngrammar well.Larsen-Freeman(2001)proposed that the form,meaning and use ofgrammar must be considered simultaneously in order to communicate properly.Ascan be seen,grammar teaching is essential for successfully learning a language.
