uencing a different race from your own culture is amazing, and it’s something apparent in contemporary Britain, with regards to music of the rap persuasion. This in it self, brings cultures together by gaining more appeal and in which leads to the neutral discovering more positive information rather than taking in negative feed back from the media. As with rap music, it does take a battering from the media.

Perhaps the best example would be the punk subculture when talking about youth subcultures. Members of the punk subculture can often be identified by their distinctive clothing, hair, jewellery and tattoos. They form a distinctive way of life which rejects mainstream values. A similar philosophy may be found in non-commercialisedhip hop, which has also faced severe mainstream appeal.

The chapter does go into irrelevent information with regards to the idea of fans for example. Race, gender, deviances and moral panics, is what remains hgihly imprtant in the world of culture.

My understanding of the chapter is that it provides an up to date introduction to the expanding field of subcultures. The chapter offers a summary and examination of topics regarding subcultures. The chapter delivers great educational writing on emergences of subculture, their effects on society, pre-conceived notions and effects.

It examines different dimensions of culture, reflecting current developments.I think within every group in society there are sub groups, and they are continuously spreading. For example within religion, weather it be Christianity, for which you get divided groups such as protestants and Catholics and within Hinduism, you have a cast system, (Brahmin (priest), Chamars (Untouchables)) and so on. History plays a big part in developing sub cultures as in the chapter regarding the gangs in south central LA is a fine example. I believe sub groups occur because there are pivotal points in life when people change. Ideas, perceptions and way of life are changed through, experiences. There is a view that everybody wants to be different, nobody wants to conform to the norms of society otherwise they are portrayed as mundane. To break away from the norms of society people create their own ideologies, through fashion, dialogue, and beliefs, and sooner or later it catches on, as certain characteristics begin to appear appealing to others.

Cultures like music has different forms of genre, (pop, rock, r’n’b, hip hop, jazz, garage, disco and so on) and each type of music has a following which we can label through the music. Music creates diversion, through expression, fashion and dialogue. Rap music has been seen very negatively, through murder, drugs, sex and profanity. It is portrayed as violent and unsuitable. With punk music, you get people with tattoos, unorthodox hairstyles, and again we judge it to be very negative. Every body has freedom of expression and instead of respecting ones way of life; we are quick to judge it mainly through 论文英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写英语论文代写代写论文代写英语论文代写留学生论文代写英文论文留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
