摘要:本文是一篇高中英语教学论文,在本研究中,笔者从三个方面进行了观察和研究。它们分别是语境、语篇衔接和连贯以及课堂上使用的语篇结构。第一个是关于语篇语境。关于对教师话语指导的观察,八位教师中有七位给出了关于话语语境的指导。大多数教师在指导语篇语境时注重调动学生的语言图式和内容图式。

本文是一篇高中英语教学论文,笔者认为高中生已经具备了基本的英语能力和更好的理解能力。在指导语篇衔接和连贯时,教师可以引导学生注意和理解语篇中隐含的衔接和连贯技巧。教师可以在语篇中删除一个段落或句子,并用其他衔接手段替代隐含的衔接和连贯技巧。通过这种方式,学生可以感受到不同。这样可以使学生更好地理解内隐技术的作用。


Chapter One Introduction


1.1 Background of the Study

1.1.1 The Importance of Reading Teaching

The input hypothesis of Krashen makes us theoretically realize that input is themost basic way of language acquisition (Wang 2011). For students in China, whostudy English as a second language, reading is a common way to learn language as aresult of lacking a language learning environment. Reading teaching is of greatsignificance to develop students’ reading competencies. As Xiao (2019) states formore than half a century, English teaching in China has been mainly based on reading.Reading teaching is a direct and effective platform where students can acquire readingknowledge and skills. Huang (2001a: 5-6) states that discourse analysis itself is not ateaching method, but a way to describe the use of language and help people betterunderstand the language in use, but it is very helpful for language teaching, especiallyreading teaching. So teachers ought to conduct reading teaching based on discourse analysis, developing students’ reading competencies.

1.1.2 The Requirement of the English Curriculum Standards for Senior HighSchool (2018 Edition)

The main material in reading class is discourse. The English CurriculumStandards for Senior High School (2018 Edition) ( hereinafter referred to asCurriculum Standards) for the first time in the course content makes it clear thatdiscourse is one of the important course contents. The Curriculum Standards forpoints out that learning discourse knowledge is the basis for developing languageapplication skills. Possessing some discourse knowledge is essential in languagecomprehension and expression. It can help language users comprehend discoursesthey listen to or read effectively. In oral and written expression, discourse knowledgecan help readers choose appropriate discourse types according to their communicativeneeds, design appropriate discourse structure, plan the component of discourse, andmaintain the cohesion and coherence of discourse. So when teaching discourse, it ishigh time that teachers should apply discourse analysis into the instruction ofdiscourse. In this way, students can gain some discourse knowledge to develop theirreading and expression competencies.

1.2 Aims of the Research

Considering the current situation of high school reading teaching and to achieverequirements of the Curriculum Standards, it is necessary to raise teachers’ discourseawareness. Exploring a reading teaching method from the view of discourse analysishas significant meaning on the improvement of students’ reading competence. Mostprevious studies focus on the development of discourse analysis theories or directlyput discourse analysis theory into discourse. This thesis is based on the theory ofdiscourse analysis, and at the same time refers to the requirements of the curriculumstandard for discourse teaching.
