4.1 Current Situation of Verb Errors in Senior One Students’English Writings

These verb errors in 214 pieces of writings are marked according to the verberrors’classification in Chinese Learner English Corpus(2003).Because the verberror classification in CLEC is moderate and open,allowing researchers to supplyerror types as needed.

According to text collection and the number of verb errors,the percentage ofvarious error types can be further obtained by Excel software,so as to obey thereader-friendly principle,the author presents the bar graph of verb errors proportion instudents’English writings below.

5.1 Major Findings

English writing ability is the embodiment of language ability and thinkingquality,so the study collected 214 pieces of compositions to analyze current situationof these students’verb errors and the reasons.The results are mainly demonstrated inthe following.

(1)Current situation of verb errors in senior one students’English writings stillexists many problems.And the frequency of verb errors can be drawn thatsubject-verb agreement errors and verb tense errors account for the highest proportion,then non-verbal verb errors,verb transitivity and Chinglish make up the nextproportion,and the smallest percentage is errors of verb voice,verb spelling and thedeficiency of predicate.

(2)Reasons of verb errors can be concluded that inter-lingual transfer,intra-lingual transfer and other reasons by text analysis,think-aloud protocol andinterview.Firstly,banner students learn English only in English class,so with theinfluence of their mother tongue,they will directly bring their native language mindinto the second language,which results that the language they use will appear thephenomenon of mother tongue transfer.Obviously,a complete sentence are composedwith words,sentence structure and culture mind,and a composition is made up ofsentences,but students in the banner almost has few English mind to finish writings,so verb errors in students’writings are effected by inter-li论文英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写英语论文代写代写论文代写英语论文代写留学生论文代写英文论文留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
