2.2 Theoretical Framework
The study is based on constructivism and social cognitive theory to explore theimpact of AWE-based SRSD instruction. Constructivism emphasizes students’ active exploration and discovery of knowledge, which is of guiding significance to thestudy. In the meantime, social cognitive theory is mainly introduced from twoaspects: tripartite reciprocity determinism and observational learning. The followingis detailed introduction about the two theories.
2.2.1 Constructivism
Constructivism is one of the most popular theories in the educational psychology. Itis a new school of educational psychology inspired by Piaget’s cognitivedevelopmental psychology and Vygotsky’s social interactionism. The basic idea ofconstructivism is: With the emphasis on students as the center, teachers have changedfrom knowledge carriers to helpers and promoters of students’ active construction ofmeaning. Based on the theory of constructivism, process writing methodologyemerged in English teaching in the early 1980s. Different from the traditional writingresults, process writing emphasizes the process and interactivity of writing, whichnot only emphasizes the interaction between students and teachers but also betweenstudents and students. Through collaboration, students have the opportunity to workwith teachers and classmates to put what they have learned into practice.

From the results of data analysis, we find that the teaching effect of AWE-basedSRSD instruction is the best among the three ways of writing teaching. This newmode of writing teaching has positive impact on writing performance of collegeschool students of non-English majors.
For the Question 1, it can be known from the results of the writing tests ofexperimental class and control class 1 that the students who used “pigai.org” to writeunder the guidance of SRSD instruction made a greater improvement than those whodid not use “pigai.org”. Such results also precisely confirm that if students can use“pigai.org” to complete the argumentative writing tasks when teachers teach studentswith SRSD instruction in writing class, it will be more conducive to the improvementof students’ writing level. In other words, the use of AWE system promotes theimplementation of SRSD instruction.
