摘要:本文是英语阅读论文,国内外学者对此均有研究,但在初中英语教学中没有提及,本文尝试把窄式阅读应用到初中英语阅读教学中,以提高学生的阅读兴趣和阅读成绩。

All the students in EC and CC wereasked to do the questionnaire carefully. There were four dimensions in the questionnaire.Therefore, the author analyzes and discusses the data individually from the fourdimensions: attention, relevance, confidence and satisfaction.Table 4.1 is the descriptive
statistics for pre-questionnaire. Table 4.2 indicates theIndependent Sample T-test for attention, relevance, confidence and satisfaction ofpre-questionnaire in EC and CC.

Conclusion
Through the above experiment and data analysis, in this chapter the author concludesthe main findings, the pedagogical implication, the limitations and some suggestions aboutthe narrow reading in the junior high school reading training.After applying the narrow reading to English reading training in junior high school, itis found that students in EC indeed benefit a lot from the four-month training. Theirinterest in English has been improved and their achievement in English reading has beenincreased as well.The one major finding is that narrow reading more significantly improved the readinginterest of the students in EC than that of those in CC. As is shown in the questionnairethrough the four dimensions including attention, relevance, confidence and satisfaction,first of all, the attention of the students in EC had been drawn on the content of Englishreading. They were listening to the English teacher carefully while reading training. Theypaid much more attention to the language points as well. What’s more, they had realizedthat they learned English well in order to improve their ability, to use it in actual life freely,and to get good grades in the examination. It means that they had owned a clear learninggoat which can be indicated from the data analysis. Moreover, they have more confidencein themselves. They believed that they could do most of the English exercises on their ownand understand what the teacher taught before class. If they came across the difficulties,they thought they would do it better after given more time to think it over. Finally, theywere more satisfied with themselves, their homework, their notes and their English teacher.The other major finding is that the score of the reading comprehension has beenincreased greatly. With the growth of the reading interest, students spent more than beforedoing plenty of intensive reading that connected to the similar topic. After the narrowreading, their vocabulary had been larger, the speed of reading had been faster and the rateof correction has already been risen as well. Thus, almost every student had more score inreading comprehension of the English test. Narrow reading did improve the readinginterest of the students and increase their reading achievement through the four-monthtraining.
