Followers of Buddhism traveled from India to China in 60-70 A.D., during the Eastern Han Ming emperor period. After that the all the emperors were sincere Buddhists and Buddhism became very popular in religion in china. By 500 A.D., there were around 10,000 temples all around China. many Monks from china were sent to India for religious training of Buddhism and many preachers from India were invited to visit china and preach Buddhism.

A book Deng Feng Country Recording (Deng Feng Xian Zhi) was written around 464 A.D. according to book, a Buddhist monk name Batuo, came to china for preaching Buddhism in Deng Feng country. After thirty one years the emperor Xiao Wen (471-500 A.D) ordered to built the Shaolin Temple for Batuo preaching. So Batuo was the first chief monk of the Shaolin Temple. But there is no record about his life, for how long he preached there and when he died.

The Indian monk Da Mo was the most influential monk of this area. His last name was Sardili and was also called bodhidarma. He was the prince of a small tribe in sothern india. He was born in 483 A.D. in 527 A.D Da Mo was invited to china during reign of the Wei Xiao Ming emperor (516-528 A.D). When the emperor died he was against the Da Mo's Buddhist theory, and he withdrew Da Mo from the Shaolin Temple. Da Mo saw that priests were very weak and sickly. He wrote two classics: Yi Jin Jing (Muscle/Tendon Changing Classic) and Xi Sui Jin(Marrow/Brain Washing Classic. The Yi Jin Jing taught the Buddhist to improve their health and muscular strength. After practicing the Yi Jin Jing exercises not only their health improve but also they became stronger than before. Consequently this training was included into the martial arts, it increased the effectiveness of their martial arts skills. This was named Martial arts Qingong. His teaching helped Buddhists to increase their immune system and physical strength[2].

After 1911, the Qing dynasty fell in a revolution led by Dr. Sun Yat-Sen. At that time, martial arts became popular publically. During the period of Chinese Civil war (1920-1930), huge literature on martial arts was published, Chiang Kai-Shek tried to unify the county. 1928 Shaolin Temple was the area became the battle field during Chinese Civil War. The warlord Shi You-San's military burned the temple and fire lasted for more than 40 days all the books in the temple regarding martial arts and Buddhism were lost and major building was destroyed. The President Chiang Kai-Shek created the Nanking Central Guoshu Institute at Nanking in 1928, to preserve the Martial Arts. Many monks and masters of martial arts were hired and the name of martial arts was changed from “Wushu” (Martial Techinques) to “Zhong Guo Wushu” (Chinese Martial Techniques) or simply “Guoshu” (Country Techniques). From now on the government itself made arrangements for the improvements of different styles of martial arts. Masters of different techniques and styles were sat together and shared their experiences to strengthen the Martial Arts. This training was stoped once again when Seco论文英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写英语论文代写代写论文代写英语论文代写留学生论文代写英文论文留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
