Encourage Discussion

 

It has been said that employees of any organization feel more satisfied with their appraisal result if they have chance to talk freely and discuss their performance with their managers. This can also help the employees to perform better in the future in order to meet their goals

 

Constructive intention

 

It is very important that employees recognize that negative appraisal feedback is provided with a constructive intention, i.e. to help them overcome present difficulties and to improve their future performance. Employees will be less anxious about criticism and more likely to find it useful when they believe that the appraiser's intentions are helpful and constructive

 

Set performance goals

 

One of the most important elements in employee motivation is goal setting. If employee of any organization had set goals or objectives he or she can put more effort, pay more attention, increase persistence and find him the better ways to work and to fulfil his goals and objectives. If any employee sets or accept difficult goals and objectives than he is likely to give high level performance as compared to easy goals and objectives

 

Appraiser Credibility

 

It is very important that the appraiser which is usually the manager or supervisor of the employee be well-informed and credible. Manager or supervisor should feel free and comfortable with the techniques of appraisal. Manager should also have perfect knowledge about the employee's job and performance. Under these circumstances the employee is more likely to view the appraisal accurately and fairly

 

Benefits of Appraisal

 

There are several benefits if any employee is appraised by his manager or supervisor. When performance appraisal is conducted properly, both supervisor and subordinate have reported the experience as beneficial and positive
