Each country ornation’s culture is different from the other, so as the forms and styles of the languages.Different cultural backgrounds can have different meanings of the same goods. Due tothe considerable differences in terms of social customs, religions, thought patterns, theorigin of culture among Mongols and other nations( namely Chinese and Westernculture), there exists a huge cultural gap among these cultures. To deal with thecommunicating barriers caused by above factors, this paper proposed five interpretingstrategies according to the theory of domestication and foreignization for interpretingMongolian culture-specific terms.At the end, escort interpreters should not only become excellent in languages, butalso successful intercultural communicators from the perspectives of their specificmission. Escort interpreters need to be competent in both cultures and languages. Aslong as they meet the requirements for both cultural and language communication,they can render source language into target language accurately and smoothly. Inanother word, escort interpreters’ cross-cultural consciousness in some waydetermines the results of the interpreting result. Therefore, how to cultivate escortinterpreters’ cross-cultural awareness becomes an important task in the pursuit of highquality escort interpreting. The author thinks that in training for escort interpreters,improving the study of their mother culture and the target culture are very important,as well as the study of cultural comparison.The author tries to find a more understandable and satisfactory way to interpretMongolian culture-specific words into English to hold an standard interpretingstrategies in the future.
