However，most of thearticles focus on the translation of legal texts based on their stylistic lexical features, andhardly any mention has been made of the syntactic features of English and the relevanttranslation skills. What's worse，most of the study are based on legal practice and thus lacktheoretical profundity

1.2 Research Significance研究意义
This paper explores the rule of syntactic patterns conversion in English-to-Chinese legaltranslation. It is important for the following reasons.First, it can substantially improve the quality of legal translation, which is confined in acontext of law, language, philosophy and many other factors (Zhang Leping, 2008). Second,by establishing the rules for syntactic conversion between the two languages, this researchwill guide translators of legal English in their translation practice, enabling them to follow therules and raise the quality of their translation. Third, this research is a good supplement to thestudy of legal translation, since, as is afore mentioned, most of the current research in thisfield does not touch upon the rules of syntactic patterns conversion in legal translation.To sum up, this research will facilitate to some degree the study of legal translation, whichis of significance against the overall background of increased global communication in manyaspects.The author explores the translation of legal English sentences from the content of legal textincluding the aspects of legal principle and legal language. Legal content, namely legalprinciple includes legal logic, the hermeneutical circle and the legal implication.Legal logic is an inherent requirement by the legislative and judicial impartiality. From theperspective of language，in the process of choosing words, forming sentences as well asparagraphs, logic standards are adequately and accurately met. So during the translationprocess, accurate perception, judgment and reasoning are all based on an accurateunderstanding of the logical relationship among these conceptions. So，it is very important toclarify the inherent logic of the legal text in translation, especially the formal logic.The hermeneutical circle is a prominent feature in understanding because the fullunderstanding of a whole text should be based on the partial understanding while the premiseof partial understanding is the understanding of the text as a whole. This circle is a goodreflection of the subtle dialectical relationship between the whole and the parts. In general, theunderstanding of the circle should not only be limited within grammatical or textualexplanation, nor should it be confined to the interpretation of the original context, but shouldbe applied to the in-depth understanding of the legal text.The legal implication is based on the original legislators.
