1.2 Significance of the Research
As many countries gradually coming into the aging society, the international nurse market is becoming very tight. The hospitals in many countries are facing the crisis of nurse shortage. They start to seek out the nurses in China. Since China joined WTO, more and more foreign hospitals have come into China’s market. The domestic hospitals urgently need specialized talents with high practicability and quality. This kind of nurses need not only good nursing knowledge and skills but also good English application ability.However, students’ study time in college is very short. Because in the third year all the vocational nursing students will go to the hospitals to get the term of practice. So their real study time at school is only two years. On this occasion, there should be a good teaching evaluation system to guide the students to study efficiently. The purpose of formative assessment is to arouse the students interest in learning and help them efficiently adjust their learning process. For higher vocational students, most students cannot be responsible for their studies. They are accustomed to the situation that the teachers arrange a great deal of homework every day. When they come to college, the teachers will not chase them for their homework and supervise them during the morning study and night self-study period. They thought they can relax after entering college. They lose their study goals. They don’t know how to make reasonable plans. For their study they just do what they want to do.
