摘要:This thesis is to draw attention to the influence of culture difference between China and America to foreign trade in China. With China's accession to the World Trade Organization, the nation has speeded up the process of opening up to the outside world.

30 percent of the information transmitted in a conversation is verbal, while the remaining 70 percent of communication is essentially non-verbal (Hall, 1973). These include gestures, body language and eye contact. The more visual communication that is necessary for communication, the harder it is for people from different cultures to transmit and receive information.
 
Different countries use different languages, so there will be loss or misunderstanding during interpretation. For example, a Chinese manager invites an American customer to have lunch together. In a friendly way, after lunch we usually say “Pardon me for the poor foods today”. (今天的菜不好,请多多包涵). This will really make your friend misunderstand it. In America culture we had better say: “Hope you have enjoyed yourself”.
 
3.2 Negative Influences of Cultural Differences on Sino-American Trade

China and America businessmen have different ideas of management. American people think business is centered on law, with emphasis on the respect for the facts rather than the individuals. They manage their companies under the law and contract. However, the business administration in China is based on emotions under the influence of traditional culture and pays attention to the harmonious interpersonal relationships. Those differences make American people do business always under the law, they use law to judge what is right and what is wrong, what they need to do, and what they can not do. For Chinese businessmen, they usually pay more attention on traditional cultures. Even they can make a lot of money, they want to keep the money at home or in the bank, very few of them who can understand that money can makes money. 
 
3.2.1 Negative Influences of Sino-American Cultural Differences on Chinese Enterprises' Management

Firstly, Chinese and Americans have different ways in business relationship building. In American, you never can let you partner trust you unless you have enough proof to prove that you are right. The America corporate culture lays a great emphasis on facts, logic thinking, accuracy and competition. Chinese culture focuses on intuition, feeling, harmony and permits fuzziness. Friendship is very important in Chinese business culture; your friend will help you a lot when you are in trouble.

Secondly, Chinese and Americans are different in decision-making Choose. America people give anyone a chance, if they can bring profit to their company. Anyone can be a leader, and any of the good advices will be put in practice. Chinese people usually choose the decision-making from leaders. In Chinese culture, people think those people usually have good idea to manage company, because they have more experience than others. Chun Hui in Hong Kong University of Science and Technology of China and George Grean in University of Louisiana of USA have studied the corporate culture in Sino-American joint ventures. They thought that “Good relationship” played a very important role in Chinese society and enterprises.

Thirdly, Chinese and the Americans have different basic concepts of values. The western corporate culture encourages the staff to pursue outstanding achievements and innovation, and highlights the development of enterprises. While the traditional corporate culture in China is over cautious and does not advocate standing out.
